I just thought I would have a bit of fun and put some of the most frequent comments I get as a solo traveller. Enjoy!
‘How many? Oh, just you, I’m afraid there is a surcharge for solo travellers.’
Because us solo travellers have so much more money than two people.
‘Do you feel safe travelling here on your own?‘
Well, I did…
‘Ah, I’ll have to give you the small table in the corner, AS YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN.’
That’s a shame, I wanted the 10 seater all to myself.
‘Doesn’t it get lonely travelling on your own?‘
Erm, sometimes. I mean it’s great getting to do exactly what I want to do when I want to. Other times I just want to have a photo that’s not a damn selfie.
This one always leads to:
‘I don’t get it, why don’t you have a boyfriend?‘
It’s a question I ask myself frequently…
Orders two drinks – ‘Oh, I thought you were ON YOUR OWN?‘
My imaginary boyfriend insisted we stay for another drink. What’s that honey, order a bottle instead? If I have to…
